I returned home from Thailand, and two weeks and more from the day have passed. By the way, I did not write a specialized article so far about an elementary school of the training and my own lesson plan. Therefore in article from now on, I am going to look back on own lesson centrally.
Today, I would like to convey about basic characteristic of the school.
1-1 School profile
The school which we went as sea teacher is “demonstration school of Khon Khan university”. This elementary school is attached of Khon Kaen University, and a teacher training is carried out positively. This school is run by Thailand. The students can come to the school by free shuttle bus. There are a lot of students having a parent take them to school. They graduate from school in the same way as a Japanese school after six years.
1-2 Academic support
Surprisingly, there are two kinds of the class, normal class and class specialized in English at this school. The class of English, arithmetic, the science is focused on in particular. When the students graduate from an attached junior high school, they come to be able to speak English so as to be able to talk in their daily life. In addition, the student who is lack of understanding asks a teacher the main point personally at a staff room. I looked at the place where students is given a small test at a staff room. There are a study hall and the library room, so the place for studying is provided. Most of the children of the rich person seem to go to the cram school.
1-3 Teaching system
There is a teacher of the charge for each one class. In the elementary school of Japan, a teacher of the charge teaches all subjects basically. However, a specialized teacher teaches it for each subject in Thailand. The number of teachers teaching varies. There were three teachers in the class of the music. Because English is focused on, the native speaker of the foreigner talks in the English lesson. Depending on a subject, the process of class varies. My friend was in charge of a class of math. Therefore I observed the class of math too. By the class, Mathmatic teachers effectively utilized a blackboard to show a summary and a agenda clearly.
